Green Energy Oman will generate 25 GW of green energy
An international consortium consisting of OQ, InterContinental Energy and EnerTech has announced progress in the development of the Green Energy Oman (GEO) integrated green fuel project. The project aims to produce 25 gigawatts (GW) of renewable solar and wind energy, which will be used to produce over 1.5 million tons of carbon-neutral green hydrogen annually.
Najla Zuhair Al Jamali, OQ’s Executive Manager of Alternative Energy, explained that GEO has been at the forefront of implementing large-scale green fuel projects, making Oman one of the leading countries implementing similar initiatives. Wind and solar energy will be utilized to generate green fuels using Oman’s natural resources.
